A Case of Mini Osteoplastic Flap Surgery for Recurred Inverted Papilloma Originating From Frontal Sinus

Abstract
Inverted papilloma is a disease in which complete removal of the tumor is essential due to thepossibility of malignant transformation. The frontal sinus is not always easy to access endo-scopically because of its location and structural complexity. Therefore, an external approachis sometimes required for tumor control. The conventional method has been radical surgerywith osteoplastic flap (OPF) using bi-coronal incision although postoperative complicationsneed to be considered. A 42-year-old male was diagnosed with inverted papilloma originatingin the frontal sinus, and the lesion was removed through endoscopic approach. However, it re-curred 20 months after surgery, so an external approach was considered for the complete re-moval of the tumor. To minimize complications, we performed using mini OPF via sub-eye-brow incision, with success. Mini-OPF may be an optional treatment for recurring cases ofinverted papilloma frontal sinus that is endoscopically unreachable.
